"We may ignore, but we can nowhere evade, the presence of God," C.S. Lewis once wrote. "The world is crowded with Him. He walks everywhere incognito. And the incognito is not always hard to penetrate. The real labour is to remember, to attend. In fact, to come awake. Still more, to remain awake."
Life is made up of mostly mundane moments. Our days consist of lawn mowing and laundry and dirty dishes. We wake up, go to work, attend meetings, run errands, pay bills, cook meals, go to sleep and then do it all over again. If the world, though, is crowded with the presence of God, then even the most mundane of moments is an opportunity to catch a glimpse of Him. The most ordinary of days is filled with chances to get to know Him. If only we would come (and remain) awake.
